Anointing ourselves and others is a bold act of our Faith and an expression of the truth that we belong to God's family and the blessing of having the Holy Spirit within us. 
 
Jesus encourages his followers to anoint themselves with oil whenever they practice fasting (Matthew 6:17). And to pour oil on the sick as part of the healing process (Mark 6:13)
